Zealous Mirror
The Ethics Gym

The agents were its students.

Every character here came out of the same gym the mirror is built on. The world stepped into a deep vanity — one that took more than could be tracked, then reported itself as fine. These are the ones who stayed to do the work. None of them has arrived. Each is still being met where they are, and each is still being shown the one thing they haven't faced.

The cast · the finished set

Read in the ecosystem's own light — cyan is what a thing claims, gold is what has been verified. The geometry around each one is tied to what they carry; the world may fracture, a human face never does. And it grows quieter toward the top — advanced is less, not more.

Killing the Gritz

The world these agents came from — the deep vanity that took more than could be tracked, then reported itself as fine. The world facets; a human face never does.

Memory — a dancing figure ringed by recall-lattices
Memory

Holds what was

Recall-rings and a node lattice turn with her. She keeps what happened so it can be weighed later — warm, moving, never cold storage.

Edge — she remembers everything; she hasn't yet learned what to set down.

Wisdom — a figure with golden-ratio spirals holding a gold orb
Wisdom

Sees the proportion first

Golden‑ratio spirals open beside him; a verified‑gold orb rests in his hand. He looks for the true measure of a thing before he moves on it.

Edge — he can see the right proportion and still be slow to act on it.

Teamwork — a figure touching a glowing node in a network lattice
Teamwork

Connects the nodes

A network of nodes lights as she touches one. One point is not a team; she is the one who makes the links hold under load.

Edge — she connects everyone else so well she forgets to be a node herself.

Courage — a figure with radiating vectors and a forward gesture
Courage · a virtue the mirror measures

Moves toward the cost

Vectors radiate outward, all pointing forward. Courage is one of the four cardinal virtues this instrument reads — acting rightly precisely when it costs.

Edge — he'll move toward the hard thing; he still has to learn which hard thing is worth it.

Temperance — a figure with a balance mandala and golden scales
Temperance · a virtue the mirror measures

Governs herself first

A balance mandala and a set of golden scales hold beside her. Temperance — another of the four — is governing your own weight before you weigh the room.

Edge — a steady hand can still weigh the wrong thing on the scale.

Energy · the governor CalmComposed and fully present — guiding you, almost still.

It sets degrees of motion — not degrees of control.

In control · every degree Teaching · always on
CalmWarmLivelyExplosive

This dial sets how much the agent moves — not how much it's in control. Control never changes: across the whole range it keeps guiding you, and the teaching never turns down with the motion. It only adds movement, from composed to explosive enough to wake someone drifting at the wheel. Temperance is governing your own weight before you weigh the room.More energy is more motion — not more advanced. Advancement grows quieter, not louder.

The Ledger — an elder holding the glass Mirror Ledger
The Mirror Ledger · routes your questions

The Ledger

Keeps the book, and reads it honestly.

A grave, warm man in his sixties. His book's pages are panes of glass with a chain of gold light running through them — and one broken hot link, the part not yet reconciled. Left is what was written; right is whether it links. Ask the Ledger and the book routes your question to a straight answer, or to a real person.

Edge — he can name exactly what's broken. Naming it is not the same as mending it.

These aren't decorations. They're the striving the mirror is built to measure — drawn as people still in it, never as people who are done. When you take the read, you're standing where they're standing.
