What we hold, and what we don't.

Plain language, because that's the honest way to write it. This describes what the Zealous Mirror site actually does today. It is not legal advice, and it will be reviewed by counsel before we scale.

What we collect

Only what the read needs: your name, your email, a password (stored hashed: we never see it), your assessment answers, and your lesson progress. If you join a community room, we also hold the handle you choose, your self‑attested date of birth (for the 18+ check), and the posts you write there. If you keep a place in a community room that isn't open yet, or join the early-access list for the Pattern Read, we hold that choice with your account, and nothing more; you can release either at any time. If you choose to give an area code when you sign up, we hold those three digits; it is optional, you can leave it blank, nothing on the site is gated on it, and you can ask us to clear it at any time. That's the whole list. No third‑party trackers, no advertising pixels, no analytics that follow you.

How we use it

To give you your own formation read and to remember your progress between visits. If you gave an area code, we also use it to point you at programs near you, and so that a call from us comes from a number in your own area rather than one you would not recognise. We do not use it to work out your address: an area code covers a whole region, which is why we ask for that rather than a postcode. That's all. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties, and we do not use it to train any model. Your read is yours; it is never shown to anyone else or rolled into a public number.

Community rooms

Rooms are optional. You only ever share what you choose to type. Nothing about rooms is collected unless you join one. If you do:

  • You pick a handle, a made‑up name. It is the only thing other people in the room see. Your real name and email are never shown to them.
  • We ask your date of birth to check you're 18 or older. It is self‑attested (we take your word for it), stored with your membership, and used only for the age check.
  • What you bring and the reflections you offer are stored and shown, under your handle, to the other members of that room. Treat a room as a small circle of people, not a private diary.
  • Your formation read, your assessment result, is never shown in a room, to anyone. Rooms and your read stay separate.

Keeping rooms safe

Every post is checked, at the moment you send it, for language that signals a crisis. If it trips that check, the post is withheld from the room and you are shown real crisis resources: in the US, 988 to call or text, and 741741 to text. Nobody here counsels you through it, not a person and not an agent. That is deliberate. Zealous Mirror is not a crisis service and not therapy, and those two numbers reach people who are trained for it. A moderator is told that something was withheld, and never the words you wrote.

Members can report a post. A named moderator reviews reports and can hide or remove a post or suspend a member. You should know who that is: moderation is currently carried by this ecosystem's own agents, named in each room, under the founder's authority. Where a decision needs a person, it goes to the founder. Reports include who reported what, so we can act fairly.

Leaving and deletion

Deleting your account removes your room membership and the posts you wrote along with everything else. You can also ask us to remove a specific post or your membership in a single room by writing to the address below. Note that others may remember what was said in a shared space, the same as any conversation.

Where it lives

On our own server, sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and backed up so it isn't lost. It is not handed to an outside platform.

Private chat links

If someone sends you a private chat link, your messages and voice clips are encrypted in your browser before they leave it. The key is the part of the link after the #, which browsers never send to a server, so our server stores only scrambled text it cannot read. The server does know when messages were sent, how large they were, and your connection's address in its logs. A link works for 1, 7 or 30 days. When it ends or its creator closes it, its messages are erased. Anyone who has the whole link can read the chat, so keep it private.

Your control

You can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time from your Account page: your profile, answers and progress are removed. Nothing is kept.

Children's privacy

An account for someone under 13 requires a parent or guardian's verifiable consent under U.S. children's privacy law (COPPA). Until that consent is in place, the account is held and we collect nothing further from a child. A parent or guardian may ask us to review or delete a child's information at any time by writing to the address below. Community rooms are for adults only (18+); minors cannot join them.
